IDAHO FISHING TRIP I
recall, as a family, we went to Hot Springs, Montana, just a short distance
across the Idaho state line, at the edge of the Idaho primitive area.
You, Robert Jr., and the children of the couple, who accompanied us,
returned to Idaho for a fishing excursion.
You and I broke away from the other group, descending down to a very
brushy mountainside, to the river. Upon
arrival at the river, it was too deep for you to walk across to a large
gravel/rocky bar. You climbed onto my shoulders and I waded across the river to
the bar. I helped you with your
fishing pole, casting for you into a not-so-good fishing hole.
I walked to the end of the bar, casting in my line.
I looked back to check on you, and I saw and heard you crying.
I ran over the rocks, arriving at your side, feeling that both my ankles
were sprained. I could readily see
you had not injured yourself with a fishing hook.
You pointed down to the ground at a large trout, exclaiming, "It's
bleeding!" I assured you that
all was well. |
