CHILDHOOD
MEMORIES I
remember when you were born at Holloman Air Force Base.
I was just outside the delivery room, when I heard your mother exclaim,
"It's a girl!!!" I
remember you bringing your schoolwork home from the first grade through your
accounting degree. I was so proud
of your work. I
recall you caught more fish, Eastern Brook, at Lake Mowich, than our neighbor,
Captain Jack Bell. You shouldn't
have rubbed it in. You
loved the outdoors/wilderness. I
recall you carrying the bait as we hiked into Lake Mowich, in Rainier National
Park. When we got to the lake, it
was frozen over. You were a real
trooper at 5 years old, making such a hike. I
remember teaching you to drive. Your
first car was a 1976 green Toyota Celica, with a clutch.
I recall going to the steepest hill we could find; after a number of
times, you were a pro, letting the clutch out on a steep hill.
You were so happy to have your own car. I remember our times in church together; your salvation is what's carrying us through our present situation without you. I recall you made the special choir in high school. You had a beautiful voice, and knew so many songs. As we traveled to appointments, you would sing along with the discs we played. |
